Alternate Perspectives by Randy Scott Slavin. “Alternate Perspectives” is an ongoing series of 360 degree panoramas by New York-based photographer Randy Scott Slavin. “The artist’s initial work with spherical panoramas led him to the world of stereographic projection, the mapping of a three-dimensionally rounded image onto a flat plane. Taking pictures in both metropolises like Brooklyn and Miami as well as lush green fields and rugged canyons, Slavin manipulates these captures into scenic whirlpools, transforming skyscrapers, shrubs and sand into a spinning chromatic spiral.

With influence deriving from the mind-bending work of M.C. escher, the scenes are at once magical and perplexing and treat viewers with a curious warped lens on reality.” More photography inspiration via Designboom. Doodlers Anonymous: Skizzenbücher! Typography Served :: Gallery.

Graphic Exchange - The blog of Mr Cup - graphic design, print, identity, products and more... This new deck by Joe White follow the Contraband one. You know Joe and his amazing detailed design as we work together on the (sold out) 2015 edition of the calendar and he designed the front cover. Every single playing card within the High Victorian deck was designed from scratch - even the Aces, Jokers, and court cards exude the grand excess of ornamentation quintessential to the Victorian era. In a word: breathtaking. Antler is a deck designed by Tom Lane, who also creates this year edition of the front cover of the letterpress calendar! I contact Jeff Trish as I love his design of this deck, and I am pleased to say he participates in this year edition of the calendar too! As both Tom Lane and Jeff Trish participate in this year calendar I propose you 2 packs with the calendar (Deluxe or Normal) and their decks.

Creattica. Blog.SpoonGraphics. How To Make a Letterpress Texture Effect in Photoshop. I’ve received a few questions recently about how I create the letterpress style texturing that appears on pretty much every retro/vintage design I make. Today’s tutorial will show you a quick and easy way to give your logos and typography that ink stamp style effect that originated from the old letterpress style printing technique. Letterpress printing is an old printing method that transfers ink from a press onto paper, essentially like a rubber stamp. As we all know from playing with rubber and potato stamps as kids this kind of basic printing technique can result in some cool texturing, especially if areas of the printing surface lacks ink.

Originally this would be seen as a mistake or flaw in the print, but nowadays we actively seek to fake this kind of texturing to give our artwork an aged and nostalgic appearance. I’m going to be using one of my freely downloadable hipster logos as the base of this tutorial. The actual letterpress effect is created from a texture file.

San Francisco-based artist Jeremy Mann executes these sublime, moody cityscapes using oil paints. To create each work he relies on a wide range of techniques including surface staining, the use of solvents to wipe away paint, and the application of broad, gritty marks with an ink brayer. The resulting paintings are dark and atmospheric, urban streets seemingly drenched in rain and mystery. Mann’s work is in no way limited to cityscapes, he also paints the human figure, still lifes, and landscapes.

He currently has work at John Pence Gallery and you can see many more of his cityscapes here. (via my darkened eyes) OMG Posters! How to be creative. How to capture Emotion and Feeling in your Photographs. How To Capture Emotion and Feeling in your Photographs by Steve Huff So here I am on a sunny morning wondering what the heck I am going to write about today. I feel like I am on a roll with the site. Traffic is up, my creativity is kicking back up into high gear, I am motivated, and I am looking forward to new and exciting things for the future. So…with all of this good stuff brewing, why is it that I have a hard time figuring out what to write about every day?

Not sure, but one thing I do know…when I stop THINKING about it something usually comes to me! I was going over some photos last night and the ones I were drawn to most were the ones in which some sort of emotion was captured in the photo. Now I am not saying that a non-Leica can not capture emotion…not at all! So how do we capture emotion in a photograph? Here is an image I shot at a Seal concert. I sat there and waited until I found a moment I liked. So lets move on to more everyday situations. This helps to keep my site going. Raus aus den Denkschubladen – Wie Sie Ihre Kreativität neu wecken. Ein kurzer Test zum Einstieg. Beantworten Sie bitte die folgende Frage spontan, ohne lange zu überlegen: Nennen Sie 100 Tiere! Waaaaas??? 100 Tiere?

Was hätte MacGyver gemacht? Exkurs. Designspiration — Design Inspiration.
