SPDY: An experimental protocol for a faster web. Some specific technical goals are: To allow many concurrent HTTP requests to run across a single TCP session. To reduce the bandwidth currently used by HTTP by compressing headers and eliminating unnecessary headers. To define a protocol that is easy to implement and server-efficient.

SPDY: An experimental protocol for a faster web

We hope to reduce the complexity of HTTP by cutting down on edge cases and defining easily parsed message formats. To make SSL the underlying transport protocol, for better security and compatibility with existing network infrastructure. Although SSL does introduce a latency penalty, we believe that the long-term future of the web depends on a secure network connection. In addition, the use of SSL is necessary to ensure that communication across existing proxies is not broken. To enable the server to initiate communications with the client and push data to the client whenever possible. SPDY design and features Streams are bi-directional, i.e. can be initiated by the client and server. Basic features. HyperDex.org: Home of the Searchable Key-Value Store. Picking a NoSQL data store is a difficult task.

To help with this process, we provide the results of a comparison between HyperDex and other popular NoSQL systems. We use the `Yahoo! Cloud Serving Benchmark for these comparisons. This is a widely-used, long-established, open-source benchmark for NoSQL systems. It was developed by an independent party, Yahoo, and published in 2010, has over 70 citations, and has been used extensively for benchmarking. We use up-to-date versions of Cassandra, MongoDB, and HyperDex. In the following sections, we investigate the average throughput achieved by each NoSQL system on each of the six workloads specified by the YCSB benchmark.

Update-Heavy: Session Store The first benchmark (YCSB Workload A) is patterned after a session store that records recent actions in a user session. The graph on the right shows the average throughput achieved by each system on this benchmark. Read-Mostly: Photo Tags Read-Only: User Profile Cache Discussion and Insights. This vision will be achieved by building on WebKit, the widely adopted open source HTML5 rendering engine. EPUB, an XML and Web Standards based format developed by the IDPF, has become a key global standard in the rapidly developing digital publishing industry, enabling digital books and publications to be portable across devices and reading systems. EPUB 3, a major revision of the standard, was approved in October 2011 and is available at . The new version aligns EPUB with HTML5 and adds support for video, audio, interactivity, vertical writing and other global language capabilities, improved accessibility, MathML, and styling and layout enhancements.

Good luck! Like I mentioned recently there’s lots of reasons that ebook authors should be making ePub format ebooks available to their readers… one of the biggest being that we tend to have our small devices with us at all times! Sometimes though we get stuck with these PDFs, with no alternative from the author, and have to solve the problem ourselves! Recently, I needed to proof-read an ebook that I was trying to get read in time for a launch… but I didn’t have a lot of computer time to spare. So I wanted this PDF on my phone… but I HATE PDFs on my phone due to the scrolling issues I’ve mentioned previously.

So here’s how to fix it. (Please note this is okay for books you purchased. Converting Your PDF eBook to ePub or MOBI Save the PDF of the eBook to your computer. Install Calibre on your computer. Click “Add book” and locate the saved PDF. Use the left side navigation to select “Page Setup”.
