Grilled Huli Huli Chicken. This Grilled Huli Huli Chicken was the best thing we ate last week. Chicken Legs loves chicken thighs, so when I came across this recipe in one of my old cookbooks I knew I had to make it for him. It was SO good that we actually made it twice! The chicken is marinated all day in a quick Hawaiian BBQ sauce. It is seriously delicious! I used dried ginger in the marinade, but feel free to use fresh ginger. I am not a huge ginger fan, so I didn't use a lot. If you love ginger, bump it up in the marinade. We used chicken thighs in this recipe. I’m going to get gross and squidgy on you for a second. I love the ever-living bejesus out of my husband. Like, for reals, he is my favourite and I’m so, so, so glad he’s the one I get to share my life with. Pre-Colin, I was a tried-and-true serial monogamist. I basically never ‘casually dated’ anyone, every relationship just kind of escalated into a multi-year affair.

Between the ages of 14 and 24 I was single for, cumulatively, less than a week. When I hit my mid-twenties, fresh off a truly devastating break-up, I decided I would be single. I will be honest with you, it wasn’t fun. The Great Singleton Experiment gave me a unique self-assurance I had never experienced before. When I met Colin again, years after meeting him for the first time, I had been forged by my singleness into a full human (well, much fuller than before).

I don’t believe a lot in fate but things really did turn out exactly the way they were supposed to, even if it meant I had to endure some dark days to get there. Homemade Naan (Indian Flatbread) | The Blond Cook. I have this crazy obsession with naan and finally took a leap of faith and made this amazing Homemade Naan for the very first time. It’s a LOT more economical than buying it in the deli and not as difficult to make as you would think! Sign up for my email subscription and never miss a recipe! Soft, warm, puffy and buttery naan is so good to me! I love to use it as a flatbread pizza crust, but it can also be used as a wrap or simply eaten by itself. I don’t know why I was so afraid of making it. This is the dough that I kneaded for about 4-5 minutes getting ready to go into a large bowl that I coated with olive oil. After a couple of hours of rising in the bowl that I covered with a damp towel, here’s my dough all puffy and ready!

On a floured surface, I rolled the dough into a rectangle and sliced it into 6 equal sections. I took each section and rolled it into a ball, then used a rolling pin to roll into an oval shape about 1/8 inch thick. The bread should be golden and blackened in spots. Easy Garlic Flatbread Recipe (No Yeast) - Cafe Delites. Easy Garlic Flatbread Recipe (No Yeast) Paired up with the Shakshuka (or Menemen) recipe from last week is this incredibly easy flatbread recipe, as promised, with a subtle kick of garlic for extra flavour. These flatbreads are soft on the inside while crispy on the outside and perfectly salted and flavoured. Using a mixture of Greek yogurt for added protein, and olive oil to make them pliable and soft without making them too doughy, they come in at 152 calories per flatbread, or Weight Watchers 4 Smart Points!

Plus, the added bonus of being healthier than store bought wraps without any added artificial preservatives. I mean, who doesn’t love warm, soft, FRESH bread steaming out of a pan and filling their kitchens with that unmistakable, sweet-fresh-bread-smell? This recipe is so easy. Start off with your own dough, and once it’s all together, cover with cling wrap. Once it has rested, divide it in two… Then into 10 equal parts (or approximately). Or just leave them as they are. Meat Stuffed Potato Pancakes (Draniki) - Natasha's Kitchen. These are classic old world classic potato pancakes well loved by Slavic people. We call them draniki or deruny and they are super yummy for breakfast, lunch or even dinner. These potato pancakes are made by grating raw potatoes into the batter – weird but so good! They are a favorite in our house. This is my Mom’s recipe and the pancakes are amazing as is but this time we added a tasty meat filling (inspired by one of my favorite bloggers, Olga).

The filling takes these classic potato pancakes over the top. Ingredients for Stuffed Potato Pancakes (Draniki): 1 1/2 lbs (5 medium) potatoes (we used yukon gold), peeled 1 medium onion, peeled and divided (use 3/4 for potatoes and 1/4 for meat filling) 1 large egg 3 Tbsp all-purpose flour 1 Tbsp sour cream 1 tsp salt, or to taste 1/8 tsp black pepper, or taste Cooking oil (we use extra light olive oil) 1/2 lb ground pork 1 Tbsp reserved grated onion (see above) 1/4 tsp salt and a pinch of black pepper, or to taste 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

I was first introduced to Naan by my Aunt and Uncle who taught me how to make one of my favorite Indian Recipes: Indian Butter Chicken, but I didn’t actually know what Naan tasted like. Back then we ate Butter Chicken with Pita Bread because it was more readily available at typical grocery stores. But then one day, my friend Jamie posted a recipe for Naan Bread and I knew the time had come where I had to try it for myself. My kids absolutely love helping me make this delicious Indian Flatbread – what they like to call “circle bread.”

Rolling the dough into little balls and then flattening with a rolling pin provides so much entertainment for their little hands. It’s a shame that I am only just now getting around to sharing the recipe, because we’ve been making Naan at home for months now. This time I wanted to do a little experimenting test a whole wheat version of the Indian Naan so it would be a touch healthier. Doubled in Bulk Finger Test Fresh Yeast Fresh yeast is important.
