Never Trust a Lady by Suzanne Robinson Detailed Book Review

ISBN: 0553584235 In 1861 Lady Eva Sparrow flees the boredom of aristocratic Victorian England to explore the United States. Her plan is to travel from New York to Texas and back before returning to her homeland. Though she heard of slavery and felt appalled that someone could treat another human as property, Eva becomes outraged to see the plight of blacks when she reaches Natchez, Mississippi, but has no idea how she can help. Though a Texan, Ryder Drake is a Union spymaster with agents throughout the Confederacy.

NEVER TRUST A LADY reads more like a fine historical novel than a Civil War romance though there is a love subplot between the lead couple. Harriet Klausner This report prepared by Harriet Klausner. To Romance a Charming Rogue (Courtship Wars, #4) by Nicole Jordan - Reviews, Discussion, Bookclubs, Lists. Portrait of a lover de Julianne MacLean. Résumé de l’éditeur : Picture of deception...

Portrait of a lover de Julianne MacLean

Annabelle Lawson knew nothing about the breathtaking stranger she met on the train — only that he’d make an ideal model for the budding young artist...and that she desired him more than she believed possible. But after she’d been seduced, she learned that she’d also been betrayed. The man she thought she loved was really Magnus Wallis — a scoundrel like his father before him, the loathed cousin of Annabelle’s benefactor, the honorable Earl of Whitby. A landscape of love... No longer the naively romantic girl who would tumble for a rogue, Annabelle cannot avoid a reunion with the despicable Magnus, who wants to include her portraits in his new London gallery. Love according to Lily de Julianne MacLean. Résumé de l’éditeur : Being raised in a strict, humorless household did nothing to dampen Lady Lily Langdon’s romantic nature — nor cool her lifelong affection for Edward Wallis, Earl of Whitby, her elder brother’s oldest, dearest friend.
