Go Right Ahead and Paint That Laminate. We’ve owned this laminate and particle board media center for about fifteen years. It was purchased in the leaner years from a discount furniture store. Back in the 90s, we used it in our family room to store all of our media equipment, but then we eventually moved it to the kids’ play space. For the longest time (like most moms) I was just grateful for the storage it brought me and I didn’t care what color it was.
Then all of a sudden I just couldn’t take it anymore. I was staring at the faux maple laminate last week and I decided the day had come. It was time to paint it! So it was time to rid my world of the maple tone and give it a fresh coat of white paint. Here’s the Before: Here’s the After: Here’s how I painted my laminate storage center. Make sure you invest in the right primer. Oil based Zinsser grips like glue in my opinion, and without sanding. Roll your primer on your piece of furniture, then follow up with a brush in all the crevices. I am loving our ‘new’ storage system !! All Things Thrifty Home Accessories and Decor. IKEA Hackers. D.I.Y ANTLER JEWELLERY WALL HANG...... Hello My lovelies,I've got a different sort of DIY today,Its still to do with fashion but with a twist.... You will need:Old Antlers,Spray paint,Mounting Hook,Wall hook.......And just to note I didn't go out and murder this poor reindeer for his antlers, I bought them off a friend that didn't want them anymore.... 001:Wash your antlers to get any dirt off..... 002:Grab your gold spray and give the antlers about 3 coats,I left mine to dry overnight with each coat... 003: Screw a Mounting hook into the back of the antlers,I haven't got a picture of this because I forgot to take one whilst doing it but its pretty straight forward to do....Also the hook was already in my bedroom wall but that also is easy to do....
Then there you have it,Start whacking your jewellery and hats on there and you have another way of keeping your bits and pieces tidy.... I will be putting up another antler underneath after christmas I just haven't had time to do it yet Hope you liked this DIY Lots of Love xx. TetraBox Light by Ed Chew. Liquid to Light Designer Ed Chew takes a green step in the right direction with the TetraBox lamp, a light object made from discarded drink packets that would have otherwise ended up in landfills already packed to the brim. The design is achieved by unfolding the packets and refolding them into hexagonal and pentagonal sections that are then pieced together to form a geodesic sphere or any other desired shape. Here, the Epcot-like ball makes an attractive overhead light and casts an impressive web of shadows and shapes on the surrounding space.

We are so excited to share a project we did this past weekend. A few months ago, I came across a ceiling lamp, I absolutely loved. It was $850, and I just couldn’t justify the spend, being it was simply made of doilies. I can’t claim the quality of the lamp we DIYed is the same of the more expensive one, but I can say, we are pretty darn happy with the results! If you want to make your own doily pendant, keep reading fellow DIYers, it’s a rewarding and messy project! To get started, you are going to need a few things to make this project successful.
