Becoming a Licensed Agent Important Information – UPDATED APRIL 2014 In accordance with their declared intention to reform the regulations relating to Football Agents and to introduce the concept of intermediaries, FIFA have indicated that they do not intend to hold an Agents examination in the Autumn of 2014. The new FIFA regulations relating to Football Agents and the concept of intermediaries are due to be introduced in April 2015, when all existing licences will lose validity with immediate effect.

Register as an Overseas Agent, Lawyer or Close Relation As well as taking the examination and becoming a FA Licensed Agent, you can also register with The FA as a Registered Lawyer, Registered Close Relation or Registered Overseas Agent to become a FA Authorised Agent. There is also the option to conduct agency activity as an Exempt Solicitor.
Exempt Solicitors As an Exempt Solicitor you must be part of a practice which is regulated by the Solicitors Regulations Authority. No registration is required but you must then enter into Exempt Solicitor Terms or Representation with the party you wish to represent. Registered Lawyers Once you are registered as a lawyer you can act as a football agent in England. To register as a lawyer you need to submit the AG5/L form (see resources section below) to the Financial Regulation team by post, fax or e-mail.
