Capricious Gentlemen Illustrations - Alex Perez is a Master of Drawing Dapper Individuals Humorously (GALLERY)
Alex Perez’s illustrations may be simple enough to recreate for anyone familiar with vector illustrating, but that doesn’t mean a person imitating him will nail his humor. Often drawing dapper gentlemen in whimsical scenarios, Perez truly knows how to tickle people’s funny bone while remaining true to his own unique aesthetic style. What I enjoy most about these Alex Perez illustrations is the fact that his humor often requires a certain amount of scientific intellect to understand.I know it’s been awfully quite on the blog the last few months. I’m sorry for that but I’ve been really busy (with some wonderful and fun things ) and had to down prioritize Below The Clouds. That doesn’t mean that I’m closing the blog, it just means that I’m extending my break until after the holidays. See you in 2012! Minneapolis based Cue have designed a wonderful invitation for the Children’s Theatre Company’s Curtain Call Ball, the theaters annual fundraiser that supports programs for young people.

This is version 1.0 of a technology that's a bit clunky now, but has the potential to be awesome at the 2.0 or 3.0 level. The Ubi-Camera is a working concept devised at Japan's Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences which allows you to take photos the way a pretentious art-house movie director frames shots: By framing them with your fingers. We say it's clunky because the current prototype requires you stick your fingers into that little box, but it's not difficult to imagine where this could go: As a shutter-triggering alternative to step 3, it would be cool if you just made the "Ch-KSHH" noise with your mouth, and an audio sensor in the camera then snapped the photo. Marna Collapsible Travel Cup, GOOD Design Winner At this year's Home and Housewares show, we were impressed with the number of brands that had over a 100 years of manufacturing experience— Eva Solo , Lodge and SodaStream to name a few.

Design Milk: Modern Design
The No. 216 sideboard, by Swedish designer Jesper Ståhl for Voice , is one sleek piece of storage furniture. The idea behind the design was for the door compartments to correspond to the A-series paper standards that are used worldwide. A0 (square meter) being the size of the whole unit and all the way down to A8 (74 mm x 53 mm), the smallest door on the unit. The doors are various shades of green giving it a bright, fun feel while the body of the unit and the legs are made of ash veneer.Home - Frame Magazine - The Great Indoors
Get ready to go green. In this issue, we explore blurred boundaries between exterior and interior spaces, including Carve and Concrete’s reworking of a square in Amsterdam and a tunnel-like pedestrian bridge by Tobias Rehberger and Schliach Bergemann & Partner. With Junya Ishigami, we examine the possibilities for architecture and nature to converge.NewWork
