Unequal access, broken promises, environmental hazards and scandalous profit margins are prompting municipalities to take back control of this essential service. This new book from Corporate Europe Observatory, Transnational Institute and the Municipal Services Project examines this growing trend for water ‘remunicipalisation’. Case studies analyse the transition from private to public water provision in Paris, Dar es Salaam, Buenos Aires and Hamilton, and look at a national-level experiment in Malaysia.
NO BORDERS: Louisville’s Radical Lending Library
We are seeking any and all pieces of radical literature you can spare. Currently, we have a variety of zines and a few books, but we are looking to expand this into an extensive assortment to circulate throughout our community. NO BORDERS is explicitly anarchist, but we’d welcome a variety of radical texts on topics from feminism and queer theory to anti-globalization and critical race theory, etc.This space is open to all those opposed to dogmatic thought as well as to passivity and resignation as a way of life -- an opportunity for those who have something to say to say it! Because we promote freedom of expression and oppose censorship, we will move to the public trash archive any materials that censor other people's rights or discriminate against individuals on the basis of nationality, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or sexuality.
