But over 22.1% currently live below the poverty line. The Mission The Wilshire FamilySource Center, a Citywide Collaborative with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s, mission is to combat poverty by providing both educational and financial resources to low-income communities here in Los Angeles; to identify the causal roots of poverty and to provide the Los Angeles community with the logistical and technical support to navigate Government Services and Programs.
