Starting With Nothing and Ending Up With Everything by Bruce Rawles

And is in every 1/1033 cubic centimeter of space (every teeny tiny bit)? Answer: Hey ... Everything! —W. Robynne McWayne from the book Radical Reality Okay, it's time to dig down into the mental archives of your high school geometry class. If your geometry teacher was typical, the subject of the infinitesimal point was probably glossed over quickly to usher you into more "important" theorems and pragmatic applications. But let's hit the virtual PAUSE button on the subject of the point for a while, and give it the attention it deserves. The Infinitesimal Point A pure, ideal, mathematically pristine and glittering point occupies no space. Wait just a picosecond. If so, or even if you did boggle on it a while, let's explore the dimensionless point a bit further ... so you'll get my point ... about the point.

Fibonacci Numbers

(or as currently written, C.E. for “Current Era”), a mathematician and merchant, Leonardo da Pisa wrote a book, Liber Abaci (The Book of Computation). Born in 1179, Leo had traveled during the last years of the 12th century to Algiers with his father, who happened to be acting as consul for Pisan merchants. From the Arabs the young Leonardo Bigollo discovered the Hindu system of numerals from 1 to 9, and from the Egyptians an additive series of profound dimensions.

Leo promptly shared his illumination with Europeans by writing his book and offering to the intelligentsia (the small minority who could read) an alternative to the reigning, clumsy system of Roman numerals and Greek letters. Books on mathematics are not normally among the best sellers of any era. For the mathematician, the Fibonacci numbers can be calculated from: Table 1 Number of Petals Flower(s) Vesica Pisces. The Vesica Pisces is easily one of the most profound geometrical images of ancient and modern times. (5/31/05) It is, for example, considered to be an integral part of the Ark of the Covenant, as described and shown figuratively by ka-gold's version of the Vesica Pisces.

The latter article, in fact, ties in rather nicely with the so-called Hourglass Nebula described at the end of this Halexandrian webpage. Essentially the intersection of two, overlapping spheres, the Vesica Pisces (including the interior portion of it, and/or the more common two dimensional version) represents, among other things: 1) The joining of God and Goddess to create an offspring, 2) A symbol for Jesus Christ, 3) In art a pointed oval used as an aureole in.
