Early life[edit] Galecki was born in Bree, Belgium, to American parents of Polish, Irish, and Italian descent.[1] His mother, Mary Lou Noon, was a mortgage consultant, and his father, Richard Galecki (deceased), was a member of the U.S.
Air Force stationed in Belgium and also worked as a rehabilitation teacher.[2] Galecki has a younger brother, Nick, whom he describes as a "mechanical genius" in the automotive industry,[3] and a younger sister, Allison.[4] Galecki grew up in Oak Park, Illinois.[5] Career[edit] Galecki in July 2008 Galecki currently plays the role of Leonard Hofstadter in the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory, which debuted September 24, 2007. In February 2014, CBS CEO Les Moonves confirmed an eighth season, when announcing the first half of the new season would air on a different night, due to CBS acquiring the rights to Thursday Night Football games.
