Fresh Mango Bread
I have nicknamed this bread Crazy Face Mango Bread. Why? Because every time I tell someone what this treat is- Fresh Mango Bread, they make a crazy face. I don’t even mention that it’s made with whole wheat flour and also has grated apples (and golden raisins… shhhh!).
I know this is the kind of stuff that makes people without children roll their eyes, or at least would have made me roll my eyes anytime prior to eight months ago, but seriously, nothing, nothing makes you a more productive person than having a baby. How else will you learn all of the things you can do in the two minutes he is occupied with a toy and may not see his other favorite possession, Mama’s Undivided Attention, sneaking off, stage left? Hit the loo!

Just like my favorite cheesecake , tried-and-true lasagna , incredible french bread rolls , this banana bread is my all-time favorite if it’s kind. In fact, it is the only banana bread recipe I’ve made in years. Unlike the dark-flecked variety of banana bread (which is delicious in it’s own right), this bread is light, both in color and texture, and it has a wonderful buttery crust that is my favorite part. Buttermilk Banana Bread
I just stepped into my kitchen, turned on the light and was greeted by a massive amount of dirty dishes… not to mention a random stick of butter I left out this morning. I walked across the way to the dining room table to find all of the half addressed holiday cards I have yet to send. I shouldn’t even mention the atrocious pile of laundry that I’ve managed to ignore for weeks. But all is well. All is juuuuust fine.

When I made whole wheat baguettes , I ate an entire baguette in one sitting, two days in a row. When I made bittersweet chocolate pear cake , I ate the entire cake, by myself, in less than 36 hours.
Cinnamon Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
I got this recipe from my friend Tracy over at Shutterbean . It’s one of the best quick breads I’ve ever had and not too sweet. More of a bread than a cake, but still soft and moist. Makes 1 loaf
