Introdução | Em 2012, tanto quanto em anos anteriores, algumas marcas podem estar olhando para o abismo, ao mesmo tempo em que outras vão obter resultados exuberantes. The Chimera was, according to Greek mythology, a monstrous fire-breathing female creature of Lycia in Asia Minor, composed of the parts of three animals — a lion, a serpent and a goat. Usually depicted as a lion, with the head of a goat arising from its back, and a tail that ended in a snake’s head, the Chimera was one of the offspring of Typhon and Echidna and a sibling of such monsters as Cerberus and the Lernaean Hydra. The Euthanasia Coaster is an art concept for a steel roller coaster designed to kill its passengers. In 2010, it was designed and made into a scale model by Julijonas Urbonas, a PhD candidate at the Royal College of Art in London. Urbonas, who has worked at an amusement park, stated that the goal of his concept roller coaster is to take lives “with elegance and euphoria”.

You must have heard by now about the Ford Figo ads by JWT India that created quite a commotion for a campaign that probably never run. Several people asked me what exactly happened, so I though I should write down the events from my perspective and my opinion about the campaign as well. A few days ago the ads the Ford Figo ads were submitted to AotW by JWT India's creative team. It's not the first time I posted controvercial ads, will not be the last either. Advertising is always pushing the boundaries of what's socially acceptable.

Rowena Martinich Rowena Martinich is an abstract expressionist with a difference. While her work is sometimes displayed within the white pristine space of the art gallery, it is more likely to be found in the spaces of the everyday – the shop, the train, the school, the office, the café. These are often paradoxical spaces.

For every day in 2013 San Francisco based artist Klari Reis will be creating art within the confines of plexiglass petri dishes for a project called The Daily Dish , which is a continuation of a project she completed back in 2009 . Klari uses layers of reflective epoxy polymer to create colorful and abstract paintings that look like living microorganisms. And they have the most brilliant names like Octopus Kisses , Moshing At A Pearl Jam Concert , and Jellyfish With A Brooch . We can’t wait to check in on the project to see the progression through the year . . . 86 days and counting!
