Termesphere Online Gallery. Art 121. Assessment for the ELI version of Art 121 You need to keep in close contact with me, I need to see your work on REGULAR BASIS, every two weeks or sooner, if you are waiting until the semester's end to show me your work, obviously the message you are sending me is that you don't care about my input, or you rather do without it, because at that point in time, at the semester's end, it would be impossible for you to bring corrections and improvements to your work, definitely not the ones that can be generated by my input.

Keep in mind that all the work you do, projects, remakes, tests and all will add up to one grade, and one grade only, not multiple averaged grades. If you want to know what that grade is please email me. That grade will be posted in Bb Grade center at midterm as well, and later at the semester's end. All the course projects, because of their unique differences, scopes and premises, can be viewed as a variety of testing methods, each assigned project is in itself a test. Jumping over the lazy dog. PTAssembler Projections. Introduction and Overview An "image projection" is a method by which the three dimensional world is displayed on a two dimensional surface such as a print or computer monitor.

PTAssembler Projections

Cartographers have been using image projections (also known as map projections) for centuries to display the image of the three dimensional world on two dimensional maps. Most camera lenses use "rectilinear" (or in some cases "fisheye") projection to project the three dimensional world onto the two dimensional film or digital sensor.

Unfortunately, it is mathematically impossible to dispay all two dimensional images of three dimensional scenes and simultaneously ensure that all straight lines in the scene will be rendered as straight in the image. For images with a relatively narrow field of view (FOV), this is possible using rectilinear projection (also known as gnomonic projection). As panoramic photographers know, many interesting images encompass far more than 120 or even 180 degrees. Simple Projection In Perspective Drawing Fundamentals. Descriptive Geometry VS 3D Translations « MariaLardi. December 2010. After the previous post in this series, the reader may have begun to notice the rapidly multiplying profusion of lines.

Well, don't worry about that, as it is only going to get worse from here, and the truth, er, is plane to see. A couple of readers have commented about having problems rendering or using the arcs I show in the drawing - welcome my friends to SketchUp, and the problem it has with representing curves and attaching lines to curves. It's frankly one of the shortcomings of the drawing program, and has given me my share of hair-pulling moments of frustration at times. In SU, there are two ways to draw a circular line - either one uses the 'arc' tool or one uses the circle tool and then chops the circle up into the required arc portion required. Descriptive Geometry (final project) Descriptive Geometry and anamorphoses. These notes are part of a talk given by Chantal Gabriel-Randour at the IMECT3 Conference (University of Cambridge, UK - July 2003). Some geometric constructions developed by Jean Drabbe are used.

Some basic ideas of Descriptive Geometry were already known to Albert Dürer (Underweysung - 1525) and Piero della Francesca (De Prospectiva Pingendi - written between 1474 and 1482) but their work had little effect on the history of geometry. Gaspard MONGE is universally looked on as the father of the whole subject. We wish to represent three-dimensional figures in a plane. We choose two mutually perpendicular planes: one is called the groud (or horizontal ) plane while the other is called the vertical plane.

Now we rotate around the ground line till both planes coincide. and another one We are indebted to Diane Van Bockstal for allowing us to reproduce two beautiful paintings by her father Raymond Van Bockstal . Andersen, K. Hunt, J. et al. Monge, G. Niceron, J. Illustrating Geometry with POV-Ray. POV-Ray has very good application in geometry learning, but this aspect is almost never utilized.

Illustrating Geometry with POV-Ray

In this page, i give some examples showing how POV-Ray, or any other 3D Graphics engine, can be put to good use in understanding math theorems, understanding perspective in art, and learning physics of optics. Perspective in Visual Art In visual art, one important concept is perspectivity. The concept and correct understanding came to artisan only after 1400s, which made a major change in the art world, where paintings transformed from mainly juxtaposition of imageries to realism. The essence of perspective is a simple theorem in projective geometry: two parallel lines, when projected onto a plane, their projected image on the plane will intersect in a point, unless the parallel lines are parallel to the plane. This simple fact can be easily illustrated with POV-Ray. Perspective is a basic lesson for students of drawing. Wallpapers of Descriptive Geometry - Mitra Images. Ahh! Ideation sketches and Design Process. Just what we like to see!

As a designer I truly enjoy seeing the sketches that are the physical representation of ones thoughts.

Ahh! Ideation sketches and Design Process. Just what we like to see!

They represent the breadth of considerations that the designer is cognizant of while researching, designing, engineering, and prototyping solutions. Those that are not designers are usually blown away by the range of ideas that are considered when developing a product or solution. Zach Hastings has served up another great project for us to learn from. As I look over the process boards available in his digital portfolio I am presented with a well considered process that conveys what lengths a designer must go to in order to deliver a mindful product or solution.

This project was undertaken by Zach while in College at The Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston Massachusetts. A term that is used to describe brand identity in terms of its physical manifestation, is its Form Language. An Important Exhibition including the Casa de Artist Project. Home.
