Loading web-font TeX/Math/Italic Ben North, Oliver Nash [Also available as PDF] [Home] We outline the theory of magnetic core memory, and describe the design and fabrication of a core memory Arduino shield. 1 Introduction 1.1 What is magnetic core memory?

Magnetic core memory reborn

Core memory is an old memory technology. Magnetic core memory was the most widely used form of digital computer memory from its birth in the early 1950s until the era of integrated-circuit memory began in the early 1970s. A core, a ring of magnetic material, stores one bit by the direction of its magnetisation. A magnetic core is a ring of ferrite material. It provides non-volatile storage. The core needs no power to retain its data. With many such cores, large memory modules were made, such as this example from a CDC machine of the mid-1960s. Cores were c.1mm across, and ran at c.1MHz. As the technology developed [1], the cores shrank from c.2mm diameter in the early 1950s to c.0.4mm by the early 1970s. 1.2 What is an Arduino? It worked. Android Robot - Download and make!

Download, print out and make your own Android robot. This poseable robot is available for everyone to download for free. The Android robot is the logo of Google's Android mobile device operating system. This Android robot is modified from work created and shared by Google and used according to terms described in the Creative Commons 3.0 Attribution License. The project is poseable in three ways. Download the parts. Roll round the shoulder tube so that the edge lines up with grey line arrowed in the top picture. Glue the two halves of the body together then thread the shoulder tube into place. Fold up and slick together the head. Both antennae are made in the same way. Roll round the long tab and glue it down to complete the antennae Fit the antennae up through the holes in the head and glue them into place.

Bluetooth BERO robot inspired by Android mascot

Reality Robotics is fishing for funding for Be the Robot (BERO), a pint-size bot you can control with a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone. The programmable droid was inspired by the Android mascot, but since Google hasn't officially given its blessing to the project, it looks a little different. It can dance, avoid obstacles, and take commands from an open-source phone app. BERO has onboard speakers, LED eyes, flashing headphones, and six motors that move its head, arms, and tank-style treads. It can boogie to WAV files on SD cards, and recharge via USB when its juice is low. It also has two infrared sensors that can detect obstacles up to 3.5 inches away to the right, left, and front of the robot.

Pledges starting at $79 get you a working BERO and more bucks gets you increased functionality. Android Collectibles. Programación Android. Arduino - HomePage. TinyCircuits. Smallest Arduino. Home · gasolin/BlocklyDuino Wiki.
