#BestTableEver at BlogHer '14 Best, Lisa. LIVE on CBS This Morning: #BlogHerPayHer. It's not every day we get to announce the State of the BlogHer Economy on national television. This morning it was my absolute pleasure to join CBS This Morning with Norah O'Donnell and Anthony Mason. Here's what happened: On air, I announced that BlogHer Inc. has paid out $36 million from 2009-2013 to more than 5,700 women—and men! —who are in our community of premium content creatives. That total payday has more than doubled since 2011, when we first announced that BlogHer had paid $17 million to women in the years 2009-2011. Today, BlogHer influencers tell us they are using this income to build their creative businesses and support themselves and their dependents: 50% re-invest their BlogHer earnings in their businesses (technology, Internet, design costs)50% use earnings on discretionary spending25% use earnings to pay grocery bills22% use earnings to pay bills or to pay off debts Ms.

Last week, I posted details (and a discount) for #BlogHerPro ’13 Conference For Professionally-Minded Bloggers. This week, I would like to highlight a subject covered at the October 23 discussion, where I will be one of the speakers.

The topic is, “Monetization: Brands & Bloggers Keynote Discussion” with some fantastic fellow social media professionals including Ana Picazo of Finding BonggaMom, Jim Lin from Ketchum PR and Busy Dad Blog, and Sarah Penna from Big Frame. When the panelists held our first organizing conference call a few weeks ago to prepare for the conference, the conversation was enthusiastic and covered much ground. We could have talked the whole day about making money from our brands.

Here are some of the key concepts I will be covering. Please comment with any thoughts you have on Monetization: Brands & Bloggers! You should come to the conference if you can and if you have an app idea, leave a note or comment, so we can walk you through the process at the session! I have spent the better part of the past 3 years building apps for MeMeTales. I have also been to a few Blogher conferences multiple times to talk about the business of building apps. This is the first of a series of 3 posts that will cover the business of app making from the beginning to the end. So, let us get started then. You have an idea. You are not swimming in cash. The answer to this is not simple, but let me break it down. The “beginning” is really about everything you should do even before you decide you want to really go ahead and build an app. The “middle” is the process of getting ready to build the app.

The “end” is really the beginning of app development. In this post, we will cover THE BEGINNING Question 1 : What is YOUR big vision? Question 2 : Question 3 : BlogHerPro 13: Brand and Bloggers Keynote Discussion. GIVEAWAY: #BlogHerPro ’13 Conference For Professionally-Minded Bloggers. BlogHer as been a big part of the most “important” reason why I got involved in social media: Community! Over the years I have gained the value of not only meeting a great community of social media entrepreneurs but also learning so much from BlogHer and the BlogHer conferences.

That is why I am especially excited to attend BlogHer Pro 2013 as one of the Keynote Speakers on the Monetization: Brands & Bloggers Keynote Discussion with some fantastic fellow social media professionals including Ana Picazo of Finding BonggaMom, Jim Lin from Ketchum PR and Busy Dad Blog, and Sarah Penna from Big Frame.. BlogHer Brings it On in Chicago 2013. Our coverage of all the goings-on at the forthcoming BlogHer Conference kicks off with an interview with co-founder Elisa Camahort Page. By Carolyn Gerin (Author, The Anti-Bride series) When I first met Elisa Camahort Page, co-founder of BlogHer.com, at their conference mixer last December, I was prepared for a wunderkind, rainmaker, and thought leader with a lot of tasty sound bytes about her mission. What I got instead was all of the above (sans sound bytes) along with a refreshingly unpretentious vibe and just enough self-deprecating humor to make you want to grab her for the next girls night out. Elisa Camahort Page and company live their mission 24-7 while wearing their fame lightly, so this year I was fortunately able to grab a few minutes of her time to ask her why the conference is important and what the main takeaways are for Women 2.0 readers. Tell us about the ‘aha’ moment that inspired you to create BlogHer?

PRO. Oezrqihj Shared by TheOnlineMom. Hello! I'm back from Hiatus. Let's Talk Blogher! I’m back! And I’ve missed you ladies like crazy! I hope that during the past three weeks, you have kept yourself busy and enjoyed the warm weather a little. Our summer is flying by too quickly, the fact that we’re already into August, makes me weepy. During my three-week blogging break, I had a chance to relax, unWINE unwind and rest my brain, so that I can continue to add value to the blogging community. It is no easy feat to manage an engaged audience as smart as YOU, and continuously provide fresh captivating content. In order to do so, this mama needs to engage in stimulating activities, such as reading Fifty Shades Of Grey War and Peace. So… I relaxed by the lake. I watched my kids play happily on the beach in Maine. I worked. I went on a few dates with my hubby.

AND THEN…. What is BlogHer you might ask? I quote Darryle Pollack of the Huffington Post, whom I actually met at BlogHer this weekend in New York, and her article. BlogHer is legendary for its parties. Live from Blogher 2012. 12 Blogher conference tips that no one else will tell you. With T minus a few days until the annual Blogher Conference, I’ve run a quick analysis of the #blogher12 tweet stream to see what the general sentiment is. The only difference between this year and last year, is about 6% more panic over clothing, this being New York where such things matter. I feel my obligation here as a seven-time (good God) Blogher attendee and speaker, is to talk you down. A couple years ago I posted a NYC Blogher Conference FAQ that a few people found helpful.

Little has changed in New York since then, although I think the number of attendees has gone from 1500 to something like 4 million, and that $26 burger may now be up to $28. Feel free to refer to that for lots of panic-reducing tips. This year, I thought I’d flat out tell you the things that a lot of people don’t want to tell you. It’s tough love. (See how I wrote “get used to it?” 1. I said this before and I’ll say it again: Yes, it does matter what you wear. Also, will it kill you to brush your hair? 2. 3. 4. HealthMinder Day at BlogHer '12.
