Last Minute Handmade Gift Tutorial. Old Book + Recycled Paper = New Journal!

Last Minute Handmade Gift Tutorial

As part of the Elmer's Holiday Memories Campaign* through Social Fabric, I had the opportunity to create an easy, affordable last minute holiday gift using my favorite Elmer's and X-ACTO products, and requiring only one quick stop at our local Walmart! With all the homework, music lessons, karate and dance classes, school performances, cookie exchanges and all the other holly jolly of the season, there's been little time to shop, let alone craft!

So a one-stop-shop was an absolute must for my** handmade gift project, which was inspired by the Ordy & Joon post I had tacked to my "Crafty Inspirations" board on Pinterest earlier this year. I started with something most people have around their home -- an old book. If you don't have an old book in need of a makeover, Reader's Digests, like the ones I used here, can be picked up for a song in second-hand shops. Here's how it's done... Make Dry Erase Table Signs for Entertaining

I don't know about you, but love roaming the hardware store for inspiration when I get a second or two. I've made dry erase boards from white tile in the past. So, when I saw this white tile countertop edging one day, I thought it could make an elegant little sign! I knew I could write on the tile edging and wipe it off. How did I make them? It was so easy that I’m embarrassed to call this a tutorial! Well, I originally made these signs for my SIL to use for the shower to mark items on a buffet table. These little signs could be used as a place card, a buffet sign, or for a little note in the home!
