The New PADI Advanced Course integrated into the PADI IDC Gili Islands. Although already integrated into the PADI IDC with Multi Award Winning Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod, the new PADI Advanced Course is due to be unveiled in September 2016. On the Instructor Development Course (IDC), candidates will get an intensive introduction to the new Advanced Course as well as also covering the current program. For all current instructors it is important to know what the difference is. The new course is not exactly a complete replacement for the Adventures in Diving Program, but more of an overhaul and addresses many of the current negatives of the program.

Generally, it seems that the overhaul is designed to improve the integration and crossover between the PADI Advanced Course and the Specialty Diver Course. The first dive of any standardized PADI Specialty Diver Course is now the same as the Adventure Dive. There is also a “Think like a Diver” component of the course which concentrates on developing and installing self-management aspects of diving.

The PADI IDC Indonesia offers a range of additional components designed to enhance the training experience for professional Divemasters and help new instructors to make a smooth transition on to working like as a professional scuba diving instructor. During the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) with Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod candidates will receive a level of training far beyond that generally found within Industry. As well as providing the required PADI IDC syllabus, Multi Award Winning Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod has devised a number of additional components on the program designed to not only provide the highest quality of professional dive education.

The program is offered every month at Trawangan Dive; the first PADI 5 Star IDC Career Development Center (CDC) to be established in the Gili Islands. The dive center is physically one of the largest on Gili Trawangan and is one of the highest scuba certifiers within Indonesia meaning that once the IDC is finished new instructor will get the chance to team teach alongside highly experienced PADI scuba diving instructors. PADI IDC Indonesia and the Gili Islands Environment.

Its 7 am on the small island of Gili Trawangan and 11 PADI IDC candidates are making their way to their PADI Instructor Examination. In fact there are no motorized vehicles allowed on the Gili Islands which means that all trips are made on foot, by bicycle or with a horse. On the PADI IDC with Multi Award Winning Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod in the Gili Islands your primary mode of transport will be a bicycle or a horse and cart.

So when it comes to training or evaluation sessions on the PADI IDC or IE candidates will not be subjected to dirty old vans driving them to the harbor or to dive sites and kicking out “who knows what” from their exhaust systems, instead they will find they have to walk, cycle or take the traditional horse and cart transport and that most of the time boats leave from directly outside the dive shop. 2017 PADI IDC with Multi Award Winning Platinum PADI Course Director Holly Macleod in the Gili Islands. Let’s see what Holly Macleod has to say about it. “Upon immediate inspection of the new PADI Advanced Course it appears similar to the current PADI Adventures in Diving Program only creating a more direct relationship to the particular specialties chosen and therefore more opportunities for dive operators to sell more Adventure Dives and Specialty courses. There is also more emphasis on the diver themselves planning and preparing the organization and conduct of each Adventure dive.” The new Advanced Course allows Instructors to add a range of new interesting Adventure Dives to the course with the aim of allowing students to learn a little more about a specific area of interest and potentially continue the education and take the corresponding Specialty Courses.
