List of Free Audiobooks - Reviewing the Kanji - Learning Japanes
The creation of this list of free audio downloads was inspired by this discussion at the How To Learn Any Language Forum and copied directly from my learning log over there. I've only listed the audiobooks for which I could locate both a Japanese transcript and an English translation. For translations of works by Japanese authors I've either linked to an online source or provided a source for a commercial one. Transcripts of works by Western authors are, for the most part, easy to locate online.
The Romajinator - Doubting to shuō
Enter katakana or hiragana into the box below and click “convert” to convert it into romaji. In general, this tool will convert kana directly. In other words オオ will be converted to “oo”. However, when a vowel lengthening symbol (ー) appears, macrons are used, e.g., (オー) is converted to ō.

Yesterday I posted an introductory piece on the fine art of placing a business phone call in Japanese. As you will recall, we left proceedings at the point where you, the caller, had just given your name and company name and had asked to be put through to someone. -Necessary if the person coming to the phone simply says "はい”, or if you don't catch what they say, but not required if they announce themselves clearly. -Obviously if you have had some interaction with the other party it is a good idea to mention it and give the call some context.
