I am a grandmother of six wiggling grandchildren and am semi-retired on Manitoulin Island along with my husband who spends his time fishing and feeding everyone he can! We have a 12 year old grandson who shares our lives on 3 acres of bush land in Northern Canada. I have three daughters who have families of their own and provide me with much joy. Bringing up a daughter with developmental disabilities and now a grandson as well, has made us very aware of the need and desire of people like them, to be a part of regular community activities. I wanted to advocate for the inclusion with integrity of all those with differences within an inclusive, caring community. In a small way, we are working to that end, with the help of several dedicated friends who join us on Sunday nights for a family meal and games night at St Francis Anglican Church in Mindemoya. We often have 25 friends enjoying themselves on a Sunday night.
