Starcraft

StarCraft is a military science fiction real-time strategy video game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment and released for Microsoft Windows on March 31, 1998. [ 1 ] The game later spawned a franchise, and is the first game of the StarCraft series . A Mac OS version was released in 1999, and a Nintendo 64 adaptation co-developed with Mass Media was released on June 13, 2000. [ 2 ] Work on the game started shortly after Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness ' s release in 1995. A sequel to the award-winning 1998 video game StarCraft and its expansion set Brood War , the game was released worldwide on July 27, 2010. [ 6 ] It is split into three installments: the base game with the subtitle Wings of Liberty , an expansion pack Heart of the Swarm , as well as an upcoming expansion pack Legacy of the Void . [ 7 ] The game revolves around three species: the Terrans , human exiles from Earth; the Zerg , a super-species of assimilated life forms; [ 8 ] and the Protoss , a technologically advanced species with vast mental powers. Wings of Liberty focuses on the Terrans, while the expansions Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void will focus on the Zerg and Protoss, respectively.

Diablo III was released in the Americas, Europe, South Korea, and Taiwan on May 15, 2012, and in Russia on June 7, 2012. [ 3 ] Diablo III set a new record for fastest-selling PC game by selling over 3.5 million copies in the first 24 hours of its release. [ 4 ] It was also the highest selling PC game of 2012, selling more than 12 million copies during the year. [ 5 ] It received generally positive reviews from critics, although its digital rights management that requires an internet connection at all times was criticized. Portal is a 2007 first-person puzzle-platform video game developed by Valve Corporation . The game was released in a bundle package called The Orange Box for Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360 on October 9, 2007 [ 5 ] [ 6 ] and for the PlayStation 3 on December 11, 2007. [ 7 ] The Windows version of the game is available for download separately through Valve's content delivery system Steam [ 1 ] and was released as a standalone retail product on April 9, 2008. [ 4 ] A standalone version called Portal: Still Alive was released on the Xbox Live Arcade service on October 22, 2008; this version includes an additional 14 puzzles. A Mac OS X version was released as part of the Mac-compatible Steam platform on May 12, 2010. [ 8 ] The game primarily comprises a series of puzzles that must be solved by teleporting the player's character and simple objects using "the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device", a device that can create inter-spatial portals between two flat planes.
