#Biblioteca, educación y nuevas tecnologías. Public. Key Performance Indicators For Libraries. Future of Libraries. Library Directors The nine library directors interviewed for this series. Ever wonder what libraries will look like in the future? And how they’re partnering with people in their communities to address information needs? During a Knight conference exploring the role of libraries in the digital world, we interviewed library directors from eight communities - Philadelphia, St. Paul, Macon, Charlotte, Miami, Akron, San Jose and Detroit - to ask these questions and more. Hear what library directors from these communities say are their biggest successes and listen to insights in how they’re addressing challenges.
In these videos, library directors also share what projects they’ve developed to help better serve their communities. Libraries, today and in the future, will be much more than places for books. “We’re seeing libraries move towards producing information, not only consuming information. That question brought together library directors from Knight communities across the country last weekend. During the conference, the American Library Association shared its vision for the future of libraries. Here’s a sample of the association’s framework, also included in “Confronting the Future: Strategic Visions for the 21st Century Public Library”: 1.)
In the past, libraries have existed exclusively as physical spaces, but this is changing as content moves online and libraries take steps to better meet community needs. For example, in Philadelphia, Knight-funded free library “hot spots” bring computer access, classes and the Internet to four locations around the city. Although the physical structure of the library remain important places for community members to gather, libraries are finding ways to embrace opportunities in the virtual space. 2.) 3.)
Aquellas quijotadas La gran pregunta.
