Aldus FreeHand for Macintosh. Can't launch Adobe Freehand MX | Mac OS X 10.6. To view/add comments, you must enable JavaScript in your browser. Issue Adobe Freehand MX fails to launch on Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6). This problem occurs with both new installations as well as installations that were carried out before upgrading to Mac OS X 10.6. Reason The activation component of the software is incompatible with Mac OS X 10.6 preventing the application from launching successfully. Solution Download the following zip file, decompress and install it in the following location: Macintosh HD\Library\Application Support\Macromedia.

Additional Information No updates to FreeHand have been made for over four years, and Adobe has no plans to initiate development to add new features or to support Intel-based Macs and Windows Vista. You guys are REALLY overstating things here. No one has advocated FH's advantages more than I (and I still do). DG, this is an open forum. So sorry to break your "rules", but you'll just have to take this as friendly advice, because that's really what it is: I can understand your being disappointed. Doesn't matter if it's Illustrator, Canvas, Draw, or one of the new upstarts, but you need to pick your poison, buckle down, and get up-to-speed and comfortable in some other vector drawing program, pronto.
