Weta Digital. See Peter Jackson as Captain Haddock in Adventures of Tintin Featurette. Today we have a featurette about the making of "The Adventures of Tintin," showing how Peter Jackson put himself into a motion-capture test in order to impress Steven Spielberg. It also shows some of the motion-capture that appears onscreen in real-time. Check out the featurette below. The film stars Jamie Bell as Tintin, the intrepid young reporter whose relentless pursuit of a good story thrusts him into a world of high adventure. Andy Serkis is Captain Haddock, Daniel Craig is the nefarious Red Rackham, and Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are Thompson and Thompson. BASED on the comic books by Belgian artist Hergé, upcoming 3D release The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn hits UK cinemas today (although the official release date is Wednesday, October 26).

The film fittingly held its first premiere in Brussels at the weekend and, with the character more familiar to European audiences, opens in this part of the world ahead of its US launch on December 21. Paramount Pictures has sent over a special featurette telling the story behind the project (embedded below) and has unveiled a host of activities on the official UK website, including games, colouring sheets and Tintin's journal. The film, using the latest in motion-capture animation, comes with considerable pedigree, having been directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by Peter Jackson from a script by Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffatt along with Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, upcoming Ant-Man) and Joe Cornish (Attack The Block).
