Disc at 80 at 4.0 and a Bunch of Other Numbers

It’s me! Ava! Remember me? You do? So today’s musing is Disc at level 80 when 4.0 hits – what to do, what to spec, what to freak out about…kidding, kidding. 33/3 Disc spec with Smite capabilities at 4.0 Let’s start with the 33/3 build, and the one I’m planning on starting with. I really got a nice “weaving” feel, using flash/heal with smite, penance and shields. Some notes on the 33/3 Spec I see a need for a power aura code to let me know when 5 sec remain on Archangel. Mental Agility: not needed at 80 – I can’t cast faster than my mana was regenerated. Atonement – I’m still up in the air on this. Are Archangels supposed to be this pretty? Inner Sanctum -No longer increases our spell power gain – now reduces spell damage, like our old spell warding talent. Inner focus is not taken with this spec, but I would take it if I dropped atonement. Focus Will – note that this no longer gives Crit. I rounded out with 3/3 Divine Fury.

The first iteration misjudged a few aspects, particularly just how much mana we’d have and the value of Heal and talents that work with it. I think I’ve fixed that now, so it should line up better with the reality of 4.0.1. Patch 4.0.1 is here, bringing with it some pretty big changes. In this guide I’ll cover talents and sample specs, spell changes, stat changes, gems, enchants, glyphs and some technique pointers. There’s still a lot of room for you to make your own choices to suit your playstyle and raid role, so engage your critical thinking skills before reading this or any guide. Talent Specs Something to remember throughout the 4.0.1 experience is that the systems we’re using are intended for level 85 rather than level 80, so if it feels a bit odd, that’s probably why.

Nowhere is this more true than in the case of talents, where you’re effectively 5 points short of where you’d like to be. Spiritual Guidance. WoW Insider brings you Spiritual Guidance for discipline, holy and shadow priests.

Spiritual Guidance

Dawn Moore is a discipline priest by reputation, but still enjoys melting faces as shadow and bugging her raid to click the Lightwell as holy. When you get your priest to level 90, gearing up your character will probably be one of the many things on your mind. Your first inclination may be to run heroic dungeons, but what if your item level isn't high enough to use the dungeon finder? Maybe you're looking beyond that, and wondering what you'll need to queue for the raid finder when it becomes available in the next two weeks. Or, if you're like me, you're probably scouring Pandaria, trying to find all the best possible items outside of raids, so that your raid leader likes you when you start running normal mode raids in the near future. Well, whether you're a shadow priest or a holy priest, this is the guide for you. Read more → Filed under: Priest, (Priest) Spiritual Guidance.
