Here's another shot of the very early Beatles in their jeans and leather jackets. From left to right: George Harrison, Pete Best, Paul McCartney, and John Lennon. Is Pete singing a lead here, or does their rather relaxed stance suggest that they are playing an instrumental? As an attempt to repair yesterday's Gene Vincent gaff, I thought I'd throw in another post today, featuring some of the instrumental tunes the Hamburg-era Beatles probably included in their nightly sets. Quite a few tunes to be sure. http://thehamburgbeatles.blogspot.com/

Beatles For Sale: Hyde Park

The Beatles were photographed by Robert Freeman in London's Hyde Park, in the autumn of 1964. The photo session took place in the park near the Royal Albert Hall, and the resulting pictures made spectacular use of the fall colors. Two pictures from this session were used as the front and back covers on the album Beatles For Sale , released in December 1964. http://www.nemsworld.com/beatles/sale/sale.htm

The Ballad of Beatles and Yoko John and Paul spent April 14, 1969 recording The Ballad of John and Yoko . During one of the days shortly thereafter, the Beatles and Yoko gathered for a quick photo session to promote the single's release. The location for the session, with Linda McCartney as photographer, was the garden at Paul's Cavendish Road home.

Beatles: Voyage Of The Fritz

The Beatles and company then gathered outdoors next to the Madingley Club (on Willoughby Road). They first posed leaning against John's Rolls-Royce with the River Thames behind them. Venturing further down the road (which changes names to Ducks Walk) the Beatles came upon a dock and some boats. After only a few pictures are taken, John decided to change back into his black jacket. After boarding another boat (the Fritz Otto Maria Anna ), the Beatles left the dock for a voyage along the River Thames. They eventually made their way to a small mid-stream island where they waved back at the photographers on the mainland. http://www.nemsworld.com/beatles/fritz/fritz.htm

Why!, WHY! is Miss Tammy so giving?, so generous that she likes to spoil her readers?. That’s me really, i could be cloistering these gems, but it’s all about niceness, and spreading the joy with me, i’m a born giver, some like to take, i like to give .. it’s in my nature. So, here we have a GOOOOOOOORGEOUS new snap of Jock McLennon in 1980. http://beatlephoto.blogspot.com/

BEATLE PHOTO BLOG

http://kenwoodlennon.blogspot.com/ In the summer of 2011, a fascinating bit of home movie footage appeared on YouTube . It shows the Beatles in the kitchen/dining room of their accomodation at Bangor, during the August Bank Holiday weekend in 1967 which, o' course, culminated in the news of Brian Epstein's demise. As both the film and the above still reveal, Paolo Ammassari, from Italy, was there too, witness to a key moment in the story. T'internet being what it is, our paths crossed the other day, and Paolo was kind enough to answer a few questions... KENWOODLENNON: Please introduce yourself!

the beatles > you

http://thebeatlesblog.tumblr.com/ Hi, I manage a songwriting project where we post original tunes and devote them to other bloggers. Tonight's tune is old school pop, like old Beatles work, and I gave a shout out to your blog in the audio post. I know this is unusual, but that's part of the fun. Bounce over to my blog to listen if you'd like.

When we left last Barb, Sheila, Jo, Silvia, and Cathy they were a bit addicted to waiting outside of EMI studios waiting for Paul McCartney. It was March 1977 and the Wings that included Paul and Linda along with Denny Laine, Joe English and Jimmy McCullough were recording their album, London Town. But in 1977 the fans didn't know what was being recorded or that Joe and Jimmy would leave the band before the album would even be released the next year. And I do not think they cared much about that.
The above photos were scanned by me and taken from various issues of Beatles Monthly, ranging from the first original run all the way to 1999. These photos were all taken backstage (or on stage) at the Brighton Hippodrome on October 25, 1964. Raging Beatlemania in the UK had been thriving for over a year at this point, and the Beatles were already beginning to tire of the grind of performing, promoting and meeting various celebrities backstage between shows. They were also beginning to show some uneasiness regarding their next single, "I Feel Fine," which was the first sign of doubt they had expressed to Monthly editor Johnny Dean. http://childofnaturebeatles.blogspot.com/
