And in the midst of the conference, a recent issue of License! Global Magazine was debuted, inside, revealing a cool promo poster Marvel & Joss Whedon's superhero ensemble film The Avengers . Hi everyone, we have exciting news to share today – our partners at Marvel Studios are bringing Marvel’s “The Avengers” to Walt Disney World Resort this spring! In Marvel’s “The Avengers,” super heroes team up to pull the world back from the brink of disaster when an unexpected enemy threatens global security. Similar to the “Tron”-themed wrap , one of our Magic Kingdom Park Monorails is currently undergoing a Marvel’s “The Avengers”-themed changeover to celebrate the May 4 opening of the film, which stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Tom Hiddleston, with Stellan Skarsgård and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. Here’s a sneak peek, with more details to come.
Disney Acquires An Estimated $100 Million In Marketing Support For THE AVENGERS
Variety reports that Marvel and Disney have acquired an estimated $100 million in worldwide marketing support for The Avengers . This is their largest promotion push yet, with companies including Acura, Dr. Pepper, Visa, Wyndham hotels, Harley-Davidson, Land O'Frost lunchmeats, Farmers Insurance, Hershey, Symantec, Oracle, Colantotte and Red Baron pizza having all signed up. Their aim is to develop strong relationships with these brands moving forward and you may recall that many of them have already played a role in past Marvel Studios films. "It's really a strong core of partners that have been partners for many of these pictures," said Bob Sabouni, exec VP, worldwide marketing partnerships, Marvel Entertainment.
A Sneak Peek at the Upcoming Marvel: Avengers Alliance Game
Last month saw the release of the trailer and the first details regarding Marvel: Avengers Alliance , a free-to-play, turn-based combat game that will soon be available on Facebook from Disney Interactive Media Group's Playdom studios. This week, SuperHeroHype had the opportunity to sit down with Michael Rubinelli, the Vice President of Studio Operations for Playdom and Robert Reichner, Senior Producer at Playdom, to take a look at the social networking game and its unique take on the Marvel Universe. In bringing Marvel to the masses, Playdom elected to make the look and feel of the feature films the basis for the game. That's readily apparent in the look of the "Ultimates" style Nick Fury, but subtlety extends to other characters as well, whether they've already appeared on the big screen or not. Reicher noted that Iron Man's dialogue is inspired by Robert Downey, Jr.'

Marvel has hired a writer to pen the story for Marvel: Avengers Alliance , the Disney -owned comic book company's first ... Facebook game. So yeah, you could say that Marvel's taking this project seriously. "It's a new thing, for sure," Irvine told Mediabistro's GalleyCat blog .

Marvel smashes its way onto Facebook with today’s announcement of Marvel: Avengers Alliance , a unique combat role playing game experience with dozens of Marvel's most iconic heroes and villains. Marvel: Avengers Alliance will be live on Facebook Q1 2012 from Disney Interactive Media Group's Playdom studios. Marvel: Avengers Alliance takes place in the wake of a galaxy-wide disaster, known as “the Pulse,” exposing Manhattan to attack from Marvel’s most formidable villains. This is a new storyline for the Marvel Universe, created specifically for the game.

Marvel and Disney gave D23 audience members the second look at the full cast of The Avengers . The 2,500 fans in attendance erupted into applause for the cast that included: Tom Hiddleston, Colbie Smulders, Jeremy Renner,Scarlett Johannsson, Chris Hemsworth and lastly Robert Downey Jr. (who received a standing ovation).
