Emma Stone was a guest on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" last night and she brought along a new clip from The Amazing Spider-Man featuring The Lizard coming to Oscorp. You can watch the clip using the player below (it starts at the 3:48 minute mark) . Opening in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on July 3, the Marc Webb-directed action adventure also stars Andrew Garfield, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field. The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets.
When I spoke with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige a few weeks ago, he told me that not only does he cheer for his own movies at the box office, but comic book movies in general. "There are a lot of comic books that aren’t Marvel, and those obviously we have nothing to do with, no control, but I will tell you that I root for every single one," Feige said. "A) because as a fan I really want to see a cool movie, and B) because people tend to love the comic book genre all together, so the success or failure of a DC property or another company’s property can impact – not necessarily our box office or anything, but our perception." Right now, though, it's The Avengers that is clearing a path for the superhero movies of 2012.

Earlier this week a bootleg trailer for Marc Webb 's The Amazing Spider-Man hit the net. We didn't post it due to the low quality of the video, but today a official high quality trailer has been released, and this movie looks great! Wow! When Webb was first hired to direct the film, I knew he was going to pull off something special with this movie. I love what I'm seeing in this trailer, it has a much darker mood than what I was expecting, but this very well could end up being a better Spider-Man film than Sam Raimi's films, and I'm a huge fan of Raimi. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Denis Leary and is set to be released on July 3rd 2012.
