The deal brings additional power to Verizon's growing presence in the IT services business while strengthening its federal government business and, most importantly, adding data center presence in rapidly growing South American markets. During Q3, Terremark added 46 new customers, for a total of 1,422 customers at the end of the period. The company posted a net loss of $15 million, or 23 cents per share, compared with a loss of $8.3 million, or 13 cents per share, in the same period a year earlier.
