The traditional aim of the BeerGame is to minimize the total cost for everyone in a beer supply chain by maintaining low stocks but nevertheless managing to meet demand. There are normally four roles in the game: retailer, wholesaler, distributor and producer. It is not the intention that each player should try to reduce one’s own costs at the expense of the other players, instead they need to achieve the best result for the whole supply chain. Each player additionally earns an income for each beer crate delivered to the customer, and incurs a cost for each beer crate that is received from the supplier. The overall aim is therefore to make as much revenue as possible for the supply chain. by Dec 25
