Paleolithic. The term "Paleolithic" was coined by archaeologist John Lubbock in 1865.[6] It derives from Greek: παλαιός, palaios, "old"; and λίθος, lithos, "stone", literally meaning "old age of the stone" or "Old Stone Age.
