Take a long, hard look at the picture above and the pictures below, and you’d swear that they were the works of a talented photographer; take an even closer look, you still wouldn’t doubt this cocksure belief. However, the picture above and the ones collected below were not captured by photographers, nor even by cameras: they were, in fact, captured on a canvas by a common-or-garden paintbrush and some dollops of oil paint. These are the works of Pedro Campos, a Spanish artist who specialises in photorealism, an art movement that attempts to depict everyday objects, the natural world and real-life human beings in the most hyper-realistic way possible, giving the viewer the impression that what they are looking at is nothing more than a typical photograph. http://www.thisblogrules.com/

Techmamas

http://techmamas.typepad.com/ The New Year is almost here- a perfect time to set goals to improve my business. For parents like me working at home and confined to a small work space, being organized is vital. While I have gone through my desk and decluttered over the last few months, the next step is to figure out how I can improve my business workflow and in turn improve my productivity. 1. Tame the receipts: Folders on my desktop are great for day to day review of expenses, but scanning and storing receipts either on my computer or in the cloud is a more efficient long-term solution. 2.

Okay, okay, the pun is bad. But still. If you managed to enter Google Plus , and was a user of Google Wave before, the similarities are insanely obvious. And I'm pretty sure I understand better now what happened to Google Wave. In one of my previous entries , I ranted about how Google let Wave died. But I was wrong. http://blog.grumpycoder.net/

There are still plenty of opportunities to create a lucrative business in the "job" and "talent" market. Not only was LinkedIn's entry into the public market a hit last year (its IPO brought the company $352.8 million), but this BusinessWeek article (a GigaOm re-post) from last May touts numerous potential acquisition targets that might complement their business. Among those targets include Hashable, Socialware, Yammer, Indeed and BranchOut.

Chrome Blog : Native Client SDK

Today, we’re happy to make available a developer preview of the Native Client SDK – an important first step in making Native Client more accessible as a tool for developing real web applications. When we released the research version of Native Client a year ago, we offered a snapshot of our source tree that developers could download and tinker with, but the download was big and cumbersome to use. The Native Client SDK preview, in contrast, includes just the basics you need to get started writing an app in minutes: a GCC-based compiler for creating x86-32 or x86-64 binaries from C or C++ source code, ports of popular open source projects like zlib, Lua, and libjpeg, and a few samples that will help you get you started developing with the NPAPI Pepper Extensions . Taken together, the SDK lets you write C/C++ code that works seamlessly in Chromium and gives you access to powerful APIs to build your web app. http://blog.chromium.org/2010/05/sneak-peek-at-native-client-sdk.html
