Sarah Finch Gets $5,000 From McDonald's In Lawsuit Over Excessive Sprinkles At U.K. Eatery. The last thing McDonald's worker Sarah Finch prepared at a restaurant in Carmarthen, West Wales was no Happy Meal, though it ultimately ended up putting nearly $5,000 in her pocket. It was a McFlurry, and according to her supervisor's evaluation, Finch had been a little heavy-handed with the chocolate sprinkles. Finch had prepped the frozen dessert for a coworker, who asked her to "make [the McFlurry] a nice one," reports The Sun. Apparently it was too nice, because the incident ended with Finch's firing earlier this Fall.

Finch had worked at the McDonald's store for 18 months prior and was otherwise described as an "exceptional employee," according to The Sun. Incensed, Finch took McDonald's to court. "The matter was trivial, in that I provided a fellow employee, who was purchasing the dessert, a generous sprinkling of chocolate pieces," she explained of her suit to The Telegraph, defending her actions. But it seems a McDonald's restaurant in Follansbee, West Virginia, is particularly distressed. The fast food eatery was spotted flying the American flag upside down this morning at half-staff -- typically a signal that the flag-bearer is in jeopardy and in dire need of assistance.

An upside-down flag can also be interpreted as a protest. Many saw the flag as an objection to Tuesday night's presidential election results. According to News9, an employee at the restaurant indicated the flag's position had been set by the owner. A person representing themselves as the owner of that McDonald's later contacted News9 and told the station that the flag's position and appearance was the result of a mistake. The flag has since been removed. 21 McDonald's Meals You Won't Find In America (PHOTOS) Sick of the McDonald's menu and wish there was more to chose from?

McDonald's Sustainable Fish: All U.S. Locations To Serve MSC-Certified Seafood

Packaging for all fish dishes at McDonald's 14,000 U.S. locations will be marked with the blue ecolabel of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), an independent nonprofit organization that sets standards for sustainable fishing based on fish stock health, impacts of the fishery on its ecosystem and the fishery's management system. McDonald's fish was actually first certified in 2005, but the company has since performed an audit of its supply chain to ensure sustainability and traceability. Various types of fish have been used in McDonald's dishes over the years -- while some may have been considered sustainable at one point, the recent certification ensures that all seafood are from sustainable sources.
