I used to be married to using a CMS (specifically ExpressionEngine) but now I'm a bit more like Duilen--I ask myself first if the project requires it. Some sites we do now are static, (with php includes to make life easier), some through Wordpress, and some through ExpressionEngine. (EE) I used to use EE almost exclusively, but have found for some projects where SEO is the primary concern, Wordpress or static setup is a better solution.
