Thursday, March 22, 2012 I can’t believe Spring is here so quickly. Cool evenings and warm afternoons, my assistant Maggie says it’s her favorite time of the year because she can wear everything in her wardrobe all at once. Wednesday, March 21, 2012 http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/

The Sartorialist

It's finally temperate enough outside that you can store that gross puffy thing you've dragged around all winter and graduate to a stylish spring coat. Of course, it's still not exactly warm , so scarves, sweaters, and hats come in handy, too. Model Ruby Aldridge, captured in Paris by Altamira , pulls off the look, as did Maritsa K., shot in Istanbul for Maritsa.co (shown). Look out for lots of cropped leather jackets, stripped-down trench coats, and thick blazers in this week's style roundup. Happy Friday! http://nymag.com/daily/fashion

For the atmosphere and the deco, for the shopping – Isabel Marant, Suno, Rochas and Jil Sander mixed with younger brands and treasures Maryam brings back from her travels… And of course for Maryam herself, but I’ll tell you more about her soon. Her blog is pretty cool if you’re interested in her aesthetic. If you’re in New York for the holidays, what’s nice to do in the neighborhood is to go to Maryam’s, then go check Narnia, a really cool vintage store.

Continue reading ‘Elle Chine…’ Discovered during the exhibition Louis Vuitton x Marc Jacobs at Musée des Arts Décoratifs, i spend minutes mesmerized by the dancers. Shame on me I didn’t hearded about Sweet Charity ( Bob Fosse , 1969) before. http://www.lemodalogue.fr/

Alexander Laible / ph: Errikos Andreou, L'Officiel Hommes Germany | Bottega Veneta spring summer 2012 / ph: gorunway, gq model alexander laible appeared on the cover of the latest issue of l'officiel hommes germany. i am really loving the vibrant colors on the cover. alexander wore a summery blue suit from bottega veneta spring summer 2012, paired with a mustard colored knitwear and raffia bobble hat both from burberry prorsum spring summer 2012. i love the strong contrast between the blue and the mustardy yellow, makes a striking cover don't you think? Alexander Laible / ph: Errikos Andreou, L'Officiel Hommes Germany the raffia bobble hat is quite the signature accessory from burberry prorsum spring summer 2012. if i recall correctly, every model walked down the runway with that hat. the raffia hat made another appearance within the editorial shots, this time paired with a zegna jacket, marni shirt and those burberry prorsum cork soled shoes.

New Balance Shoes Are In! One of the most surprising trends that surfaced during the mens Pitti Immagine Uomo FW2011 in Florence was the return of track shoes as daily shoes. New Balance seems to be the favoured brand all the fashionable boys turned to... all thanks to their classic retro designs given a new update. Wear them with chinos, cargo trousers and suit it up:-) Sports inspired styles meet boardroom. A surprising mix of preppy sporty cool.

Just like chips, works of erotic fiction and gin martinis, good fashion documentaries are hard to come by. We've seen a spate of documentaries centring on the industry, its designers, editors and it-figures emerge since the early 90s, with many garnering positive critical appraisals and awards. Although many cinephiles will deem the fashion documentary as being nothing more than a vacuous and formulaic TV fixture, several feature films documenting the rising and falling hemlines of fashion have gone some way in confounding such claims. That said, OWN's (that's TV legend Oprah Winfrey's network) documentary on fashion demi-god Tom Ford as part of its Visionaries series leaves a good deal to be desired. Of course, being an OWN production it's going to be vomit-inducingly excessive and make full use of the melodramatic techniques at work in Oprah's own TV chat show, it's still no easier to stomach despite expecting the worst. The 'poignant' piano music and overuse of Oprah-ian (?)

Easy Fashion

A few days ago, "Easy Fashion Paris" had its 4 000 000 th visitor since creation of my blog. Incredible and a great satisfaction for me ! But let me tell you something has changed and not in a good way.
