Mechatronics - Humanoid Robot HRP-4 | KAWADA INDUSTRIES, INC.
HRP-4 is a life-size "platform for research and development of working humanoid robots" we have developed in collaboration with the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), an independent administrative legal entity. Incorporating to the external design the "slim athlete" concept pursuing affinity with humans, HRP-4 has achieved the new, light-weighted and slim body while succeeding the concept of the conventional models HRP-2 or HRP-3 where the robots coexist with humans and assist or replace human operations or behavior.

La robotique manufacturière est aujourd'hui bien implantée ; elle a considérablement renouvelé l'organisation des moyens de production. 50 ans après Unimate la Chaire Innovation Technologie Liliane Bettencourt est consacrée à la robotique : il s'agira de rendre compte de 50 ans de recherche dominée à l'origine par la conception de machines à commande numérique, accompagnée par des progrès technologiques rapides en matière de calcul (puissance et miniaturisation), participant à l'émergence de champs disciplinaires tels que l'automatique et le traitement du signal, empruntant à l'informatique, stimulée par de vastes champs d'application qui sortent des seuls secteurs de la production industrielle, couronnée de quelques beaux succès, nourrissant de vieux rêves.
