In my opinion, though, the best web editor around is actually a commercial web editor called Adobe Dreamweaver . None of the free editors (or even the other commercial offerings that I've tried) even comes close to this. It has a superb visual (WYSIWYG) interface that can suit both newcomers as well as seasoned professionals. If you are using this editor, you may want to check out my Dreamweaver tutorials . The new website builder is now compatible with the majority of browsers, works on mobile too and loads much faster. It is a well-designed/planned product where a basic computer user can't go wrong with anything and a designer feels the flexibility it provides. There are 50+ ready-to-use templates (with multiple color palettes each) to choose from where you can use them as a base or build a website from scratch. The websites are created/updated while browsing . You can select any element, edit them or add new items like content, images, videos.. anything.

Two important bugs squashed- sub menu disappears when clicking on a top level menu item, and also, in mobile devices, a menu item doesn't redirect to the intended URL when clicked on. Script now dynamically adds a class of " selected " to the anchor link while its drop down menu is expanded, for easy styling of the anchor link during its "open" state. We're updating relevant menu scripts on DD so they are functional in mobile devices such as iPad/iPhone and Android devices. Follow the progress here.
