The Lexile Framework® for Reading from MetaMetrics® takes the guesswork out of matching students with texts at an appropriate level of difficulty. A Lexile measure indicates the reading level of a student or a text, and is expressed as a number followed by an "L" (e.g., 800L).

To strengthen reading skills, students should read text within their Lexile range—100L below to 50L above their Lexile measure.
