Freebie Friday! DIY Pick Your Poison Bachelorette Party Favors. Today’s post is especially fun for me because I get to talk about booze.
Not classy adult “Would you prefer an aperitif?” Booze, I mean BOOZE booze. Like “Sneak it into the club between your cleavage because you don’t want to pay full price” booze. I got this idea while trying to figure out the perfect bachelorette party gift. ‘Cause lets be honest, you’re NEVER going to wear that “one last ride for the bride” T-shirt again. While these boxes aren’t the cheapest to make (about $12 a box), we’re betting your girls will save a LOT of money by dipping into their gift instead of spending inflated drink prices at the bar.
What You Need: Decorative excelsior, found in the floral isle (shredded paper or any other packing material would work, too)7″ cardboard decoupage boxBlack ribbonAssorted mini-liquor bottles (a 7″ box holds 5)Full-sheet label paper 1. 2. 3. 4. Variations: I used natural excelsior in this box, but it comes in many different colors! Allison is the owner and editor of MarryThis! OR should I even going to spend money on favors? Now let’s be serious, we’ve all chunked many-a cheesy wedding favors in trash (and rightfully so!) But with all the inspiration the Lowcountry offers, there must be a handful of memorable (and useable) surcees your wedding guests can appreciate. For instance, maybe our Hilton Head brides can send their guests home with a little sweet tea for the road (Firefly, anyone?) , or maybe your Charleston folks would enjoy some classic benne wafers or sweet pralines (I know I would!). My girls and I had a blast making these melted crayons and we loved the final result. Simply a stack of three or four crayon pucks and tie with a ribbon or some raffia. Add a notepad or coloring book and you have the perfect wedding favor for the kids at your wedding! Favors Made from Melted Crayons Tutorial You will need: crayons in a variety of colorsmini-muffin pan (Don’t plan on using this again for anything edible.
Preheat oven to 250 degrees Remove paper from crayons and break them into into smallish pieces. Place tin in oven until crayons melt. Remove tray from oven. Place muffin tin on counter, turn it over and pop out the pucks. If you don’t want to give the melted crayons as favors, why not leave them out at the kids’ activity table at your wedding?
