This machine is believed built 120 years ago in Paris by a well-known maker of bird automata - Blaise Bontems, and refurbished by Michael Start over at The House of Automata. This house in the middle of a road in Wenling, China is the result of a standoff between an elderly couple and the government.

The house owners are Luo Baogen (67) and his wife (65), they thought the compensation (roughly $41,000 USD) was not enough for pay for a replacement home, so refused to move.
