From the Avengers Set: Kevin Feige. It was Day 1 and we already had spoken with Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, and then it was time to get the Big Kahuna, Marvel Studios’ President of Production Kevin Feige, because if anyone would be able to give us the skinny on the studios’ biggest movie to date, it would be the guy who had been building up to the release of this movie for over five years. Unfortunately, some of the stuff we discussed with Feige (like last year’s Comic-Con) became outdated in the time since we did this group interview, but here’s some of Feige’s thoughts about the logic that went into making the Marvel movie everyone has been waiting for since Samuel L. Vanderbilt had a meeting with the Spider-Man filmmakers and studio execs yesterday outlining his take, getting a thumbs up, and will now begin writing. Vanderbilt has become part of the Spider-Man family at Columbia, which has enjoyed great success with a tightknit group of creative people. Vanderbilt first worked on Spider-Man 4 for the studio, back when Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire were planning to continue the series.

When the project was reconfigured into a reboot, Vanderbilt was brought over to pen the new, character-focused version. Amazing, which is scheduled to wrap its Los Angeles portion by mid-April, stars Andrew Garfield as the titular hero and is being directed by Marc Webb.
