Plasma Active One
What is Plasma Active? Plasma Active is intended for all types of tablets, smartphones and touch computing devices such as settop boxes, smart TVs, home automation or in-vehicle infotainment. Plasma Active is a joint project by the KDE community, basysKom and open-slx.Last week, a group of Plasma Active hackers and designers met in basysKom 's office in Darmstadt. The officially dubbed "Plasma Active Three Sprint" had as its goals to plan the next release of KDE's device-spectrum user experience, define work needed to accomplish this release, design user interfaces for new features and enhancements, and of course get cracking . Another point of focus was to work on a few things that need to be done before the launch of the SPARK , the first consumer device featuring a fully free and openly developed software stack, running KDE software.

With the availability of the Qt 5 alpha, I thought I'd try to summarise what's been done in the SSL stack. Most of the changes in Qt 5 for SSL are incremental improvements, or things that will form the basis of future changes. In this post I'll try to highlight the main changes: Originally this method was just used to check the validity of the dates for which a certificate was valid, when the certificate blacklist was introduced to deal with issues such as the Commodo compromise, checking for blacklisted certificates was added too. Unfortunately the name of the method gave the misleading impression that simply calling it was enough check the validity of a certificate - it isn't.
