▼ Software. ↂ QSR. NVivo. NVivo is a qualitative data analysis (QDA) computer software package produced by QSR International. It has been designed for qualitative researchers working with very rich text-based and/or multimedia information, where deep levels of analysis on small or large volumes of data are required.[1] NVivo is used predominantly by academic, government, health and commercial researchers across a diverse range of fields, including social sciences such as anthropology, psychology, communication, sociology, as well as fields such as forensics, tourism, criminology and marketing. [citation needed] The first NVivo software product was developed by Tom Richards in 1999. Originally called NUD*IST, it contained tools for fine, detailed analysis and qualitative modeling.

Description[edit] The researcher or analyst can test theories, identify trends and cross-examine information in a multitude of ways using its search engine and query functions. Top of Page For document sources: NVivo - Attribute Values. Classifications > Work with attribute values You can create attribute values when you are classifying a specific source or node. For example, you could open the properties for the node Mary and create attribute values (age=22 and occupation=teacher). When an attribute has a finite list of possible values, you can define these values when you create the attribute. For example, the attribute sector may have industry, agriculture and retail as the possible attribute values. What do you want to do? Understand attribute values When you create a new attribute, it has two system defined attribute values: 'Unassigned'—used to indicate that the value of this attribute has not been assigned yet. You can change the labels used for 'Unassigned' and 'Not Applicable' attribute values in your project, if these labels do not suit your project. When an attribute has a finite list of possible values, you can define the values when you create the attribute.
