While the conversation between her and I was fantastic, she and I soon realized that many people would love to join in on this path to enlightenment to. Within a few short weeks we had developed the Zen Chakra forum. Luckily, I am an expert blogger and happened to have a passion or dream rather, of having an enlightened podcast. I recently bought a book called Ancient Teachings For Beginners by some Douglas guy. It has a lot of interesting stuff about seeing auras, activating chakras, seeing angels, astral projection, etc. It's simple stuff but I am so new to this whole subject. The word 'chakra' is derived from a Sanskrit word meaning 'wheel'; but perhaps even a better translation would be spinning wheel. If you could see chakras (as many of us whom work with them do) you would be able to see each primary chakra as a spinning vortex or wheel of energy; spinning inward from the front of your body towards the center point of that chakra on the kunilini and then spinning outward from that same point from your back. The ...for Dummies series, from IDG Books, originated as a set of computer manuals for various end-user software, such as Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, Lotus 1-2-3, and so on. The series was wildly successful, and broadened to include other, non-computer topics. Thus, currently, we have Sex for Dummies (by Dr. Ruth, no less!) , White Wine for Dummies, and so on. In Chakras for Beginners, my co-author Michael Manion and I first look at the whole concept—what a chakra is, where the idea came from, and why anyone might care—and then examine each of the twelve major chakras, explaining what that chakra signifies, what effect one experiences when it is unhealthy, how one experiences it when it is healthy...and how to keep it healthy.
