Carne Griffiths

Working primarily with calligraphy ink, graphite and liquids, such as tea brandy, vodka and whisky he draws and then manipulates the drawn line. After graduating from Maidstone college of art Carne served an apprenticeship and worked as a gold wire embroidery designer for 12 years, hence floral pattern, repetition and flow play a large part in his work. Carne’s images explore both human and floral forms, figuratively and in an abstract sense. He is fascinated by the flow of line and the ‘invisible lines’ that connect us to the natural world. Florian Nicolle. Iain Macarthur. Artist Bio Born in 1986 in Swindon, England.

Iain Macarthur

Became a fanatic of art at the age of eight in which I was introduced to art through watching a lot of cartoon shows and comic books. First ever comic I looked at was the Batman series. Since then I’ve been obsessed with drawing odd fantasy drawings and anime characters. When I got older I diverted from anime drawings to realistic figures and faces, always striving to make them more detailed and photorealistic. I’ve looked at a lot of artists and illustrators throughout the years, all with different styles and different medias. In 2008, I graduated from Swindon college in HND illustration and hopefully will progress in studying in BA illustration somtime in the future. My work is described as surreal and unique in its own way. John Kenn. I love how these monster drawings channel the spirits of Edward Gorey and Maurice Sendak in perfect measure.

John Kenn

Created in artist John Kenn’s spare time (between raising twins and directing childrens shows) each of these images is very tiny: it was drawn using only office supplies on Post-It notes. Check out Kenn’s large collection of top-notch work at johnkenn.blogspot.com. Known in some circles as the most amazing man in the universe, he once saved an entire family of muskrats from a sinking, fire engulfed steamboat while recovering from two broken arms relating to a botched no-chute wingsuit landing in North Korea. When not impressing people with his humbling humility, he can be found freelance writing, finding shiny objects on the internet, enjoying the company of much-appreciated friends and living out his nomadic nature.

Juli Jah. Kerby Rosanes. Philippines-based illustrator Kerby Rosanes proves that doodling can be so much more than scratching unintelligible scribbles on paper.

Kerby Rosanes

Through his Sketchy Stories blog, Rosanes shares his wonderful world of doodling in a simple Moleskine sketchbook. Equipped with an ordinary Moleskine, a few Uni Pin drawing pens, and his innate gift for drawing, the artist is able to transport viewers to a world where tiny, cartoonish creatures explode with gusto to make up larger entities. Each of the illustrator's complex and crowded sketches are filled with minute details that allow the eye to wander and discover new characters and designs at every turn.

The portraits are immediately mesmerizing, but even more spectacular when looked upon closely. Rosanes says that he's on a bit of an illustration high from merging animals with his "crazy doodle monsters" but admits, "I’m liking the results of every fusion.
