Create – wall art printable template. Some months a go I shared the Love wall art template, along with that one I made this one, but unlike the previous one I wanted to make this word different and special, so no cardboard. Instead I used a piece of Styrofoam from a box we received last week. When I saw it a knew it was perfect for this project =] And instead of painting or covering it with fabric (my first idea) I decided to just go the Decoupage route with hot pink tissue paper. It ends up being so light! I just double tape mine to the wall and it works like a charm! **The download is a PDF format file, so you will need to have Abobe Reader installed on your PC or MAC.

Without the program you will not be able to download or preview the file. THE MATERIALS - 23×8 inches piece of Styrofoam (I just used one from a box but you can buy a piece at Michaels) - Tacky glue - 2 sheets of tissue Paper ripped unevenly with your hands - Sand paper - X-acto knife - Download the template below - Marker to trace template - Sponge brush. Recycling project no. 5 - rolled paper strips. I was going to save this project for next week but we were pounded with heavy rain most of the morning so here it is. I think this is the gloomiest summer we’ve ever had! This is a very simple project that again, uses materials that we probably all have at home. This time we used:• strips of paper cut out from a catalog (sorry Pottery Barn!) • a glue stick (used to glue the end of the little rolls of paper)• Elmer’s glue (the kids lightly dipped the rolls of paper into this glue)• cardstock for the background I thought the kids were going to be able to make the little rolls of paper but it turned out that they either didn’t have the patience for it or their little hands just couldn’t handle the task at hand.

In order to stop seeing their little frustrated faces (this is supposed to be fun!) I ended up making all the little rolls of paper myself. When we work on these little pieces I never tell the kids to make anything in particular. Little C's - She was going fast! Mine... Rolled paper flowers {tutorial} | jones design company. Welcome to flower week – five days of simple and delightful flower projects.

I could probably do three weeks of flowers because there are so many different ways to create them, but I’ve limited it to five of my current favorites. Before we get started, let me make a few disclaimers: 1. I find inspiration for projects all over the place {online, in shops, in magazines}, then figure out how to re-create them on my own. Each of these projects are my adaptation of something I’ve seen elsewhere. 2. 3. Okay, so let’s begin. Here’s what you’ll need: :: paper {either cover or text weight} :: florist wire :: scissors, pencil, glue gun STEP ONE: cut irregular circle This circle is approximately 8 inches, but you can do any size you wish. STEP TWO: cut spiral Start at the outside edge and cut in a spiral fashion to the center. I like a sort of bumpy shape so that the petals end up a bit irregular If you aren’t so sure about your cutting skills, feel free to draw your spiral before cutting. *No craft knife for scoring? Hmm. A P O P U P B O X. Wax Paper Stained Glass Leaves. Ack! My computer is acting up on me today. I can't seem to get it to upload new photos. That is why my Harvest Time post has been MIA. So instead here is the project we did for this week's lesson as we did it a couple years ago. Look at how little my munchkins were! Here we are doing a pretty standard melted crayon/wax paper stained glass project. We started with some old Ziplock baggies (you will ruin them so reuse some old ones), crayons left over from restaurants (I always try to remember to pocket the crayons from the restaurants that don't reuse the crayons), a wooden mallet and a painting board (cutting board, etc). Then we sprinkled the wax bits onto a piece of wax paper, wax side up (crayon bits that got too close to the edges did bleed over the edge). To make frames for widow panes, we folded two sheets of construction paper together and cut out a basic leaf shape... kinda like cutting out a Valentine Heart.

Sunflowers & Dragonflies » Blog Archive » Tutorial Tuesday: Paper Flowers. Prima flowers are all the rage these days as my sister discovered after viewing other bloggers. I bring this up because she thought I could ‘lose the flowers’ on one or two of my cards. Quietly I said, “no way!”  But now, Cathie is on the band wagon and likes flowers since seeing them on other blogger’s cards. In honour of my sister’s love for flowers, I created this tutorial to make paper flowers. If you are like me, you have loads of unused flower stamps. Today we will layer and ink stamped images to create a hip and modern look.

I also wanted to incorporate Odd Bird Planet, so I used one of my favourite stamps that simply states, “Believe.” Supplies: Flower stamps and sponge Stamp out your image three times. Cut out the flowers and ink the edges with a coordinating colour. Ink up all three flowers. Ink some of the petals, not just the edges. With a pair of scissors, curl the flower petals. I curled two downwards and one upwards. Layer flowers with pop dots. Paper flower headwear. WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2011 | Comments: 25 10 cupcake liners, a stapler, a pair of scissors and a few minutes are all you need to make this simple gift topper.

Flatten out and stack 10 cupcake liners – staple them together at the center. I used two different colored liners and alternated front and back. Fold in half. Make evenly spaced apart cuts into liners to fray the edges. Pull apart liners and shape into a semi-circle. Glue or tape onto box.
