Jesus Gonzales recently completed a series of perception-bending photographs. The shoots are essentially portraits but with a twist -- they show more than one angle of their subject's faces. Beyond just this, they create an optical illusion such that a phantom face appears adjacent to the real one. At first glance the photographs seem natural. This initial impression fades quickly into inquisitiveness as one realizes that one is looking at a face from multiple angles at once.
