Online Freedom

TwitterFacebook

I started this tree while in China and Vietnam. This Pearltree is aimed at gathering as much information as possible on the idea of freedom online. There is a mix of french and english as I am also french speaking.

In terms of structure the tree is growing fast and becomes slowly harder to navigate. I invite all members to work on new ideas to reorganize it.

Spam will be systematicaly removed. p45c4l Apr 8

Our organization and network helped to defeat SOPA/PIPA (by making the innovative tools that powered the largest online protest in history). The Internet Defense League continues this work. But it depends on its members' donations for its tiny staff to keep working behind the scenes.

A Telecom-Independent Internet, Tested at Occupy Wall Street, for Just $2,000 | Betabeat — News, gossip and intel from Silicon Alley 2.0.

http://www.betabeat.com/2012/03/30/36466/ (freenetworkfoundation.org) This is a guest post from Cole Stryker , a writer and publicist working in New York. It is an excerpt from his book, ”Identity Wars: Online Anonymity, Privacy and Control,” which is slated for a September release from Overlook Press. On March 27, 2012 I had the opportunity to attend a private screening of a mini-documentary called “ Free the Network ,” produced by Vice’s tech site, Motherboard.tv . The documentary opens at Occupy Wall Street, first depicted as a wacky, disparate band of activists which developed a curious techno-centric bent with the arrival of Anonymous, along with a more or less disorganized faction of hackers who wished to bring about social revolution through technology.
