This May 2021, the band plans to uplift their local fans in a completely new way by performing in unity with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra at two special performances, taking place in Kirikiriroa Hamilton and Ōtautahi Christchurch. The performance events, billed as Stronger Together will be a unique musical experience for audiences, the NZSO and ALIEN WEAPONRY. The concerts are ALIEN WEAPONRY’s first with an orchestra and NZSO’s first collaboration with a metal band in their 75-year history. The Kirikiriroa Hamilton performance will occur at the Claudelands Arena on Saturday, May 22 at 7:30 PM NZ time, and the Ōtautahi Christchurch performance will happen at Town Hall on Saturday, May 29 at 7:30 PM. ALIEN WEAPONRY return with new official video for “Blinded” – a deeply personal yet wonderfully thrashy song While all of us are patiently waiting for their new album, ALIEN WEAPONRY makes the wait a little sweeter by bestowing the new official video for “Blinded” upon us. The song is physically available on the almost sold out Ahi Kā 7 Inch Single (A-side: “Ahi Kā”, B-side: “Blinded”) now and talks about the difficulty of relationships. It focuses on how hard it is to reconcile and see through all the confusion when you’re a teenager and travel around the world to play your music while trying to keep a relationship working.

The video is full of interesting special effects, and rather going for a specific meaning or message, the band have decided to leave it up to viewers to garner their own meaning from it. Vocalist Lewis de Jong says: "The song has very personal meaning for me, but we wanted the video to leave things more open, so people can interpret it their own way. Piotr and Dwayne have really captured the notion of altered realities that we were going for, and we hope people will find their own messages in the images and the music.

" The band continue to grow from strength to strength, currently booked in for a US tour with Black Label Society and The Black Dahlia Murder in September. New Zealand's teenage metal prodigies Alien Weaponry recently put out a huge new track called 'Ahi Kā', a harrowing historical recount of the burning of an old Maori village in 1952 ahead of Queen Elizabeth II's visit to the country in an attempt to 'beautify the country'.

You can now watch the official music video for it below, which shows the guys playing the song in the studio interspersed with old footage of the Queen's visit. The video has a whole bunch of sweet visual filters overlaid to match the song's harrowing atmosphere. It's an interesting history lesson, and a very good excuse to give the track another spin! The standalone track was released as part of Adult Swim's Metal Swim 2 compilation, which also features bands like Baroness, Eyehategod and Sunn O))).

At the band's recent show at COPENHELL in Denmark, they were joined on stage by Kane Harnett-Mutu (who has apparently been teaching the dance in Denmark for the last 25 years) to teach the audience how to partake in the dance of their own. The result - 6,000 metalheads performing a Haka right back at Alien Weaponry. It's super badass, and amazing to see two cultures coming together as one - check it out below: You might have seen the war dance performed frequently by Kiwi rugby teams, but it's actually a pretty historic Māori practice which has been used for battle preparations as far back as the 18th century.
