Building a palm size quad-copter & Introducing a new simple flight controller. Build the frame: I cut the aluminum tubes down to 10" long. I guess I can cut it shorter, but let's see how this go. One arm is now cut by half. The two half's are joined together with the other uncut arm to form a cross. They are then hot glued and screwed to 2 pieces of hobby ply wood (1/16" thick) And the finished frame: Drill holes that fit the motor mount & cut the two arms that would be the front and the back of the quads. I cut it at about 2" from the end of the arm. The cut is necessary so that I can tilt the front and back motors.

Tilting mechanism I found some aluminum tubes (also at local hobby shop). I use a heat gun to heat both the tubes and then I put some hot glue into the tubes, and then the round tubes are pressed inside. I tilt both of them about 8 degrees. The hot glue can be then melt with a heat gun so that I can twist to adjust the tilting angle. Install motors & ESC's 4 ESCs Power distribution I cut two pieces of copper clad PCB.

Model Autogyro - An Extraordinary Cool Idea | Models Aviation.

Many people collect or build model airplanes and helicopters for years. Still there are very few who are creative enough to try with other types of model aircraft - rockets, gliders, paragliders, ultralights or autogyros. What Exactly Is An Autogyro An autogyro is quite similar to helicopter rotorcraft because they both use a rotor to lift. However the rotor in the helicopters is used all the time during the normal flight. The autogyro is very different in this - its rotor is auto-rotating by the aerodynamic forces during the flight. The real power of the autogyro comes from a propeller just like in the airplanes - but pretty often this propeller is behind the corpse instead in its top.

Because of these specifics the autogyros are very interesting aircrafts to build. The autogyros can also be called gyrocopters or gyroplanes so when searching for such models you can try using these terms too. Autogyro Models - Plans and Kits Would you like to build or buy a model autogyro? User comments: Autogyro Plans. DAG-1 Autogyro Direct Control (DC head) sport model This is a full size plan sheet. Fuselage style: Built up Motor: Electric or Glow (.25-.40 two stroke or .26-.40 four stroke) Rotorblade: #20024RB The DAG-1 is a fine autogyro model that looks great and flies very well. It features a DC head (Direct Control) and can be set up with either glow or electric power. Full size drawings and a CD packed full of detailed building instructions, illustrations and pictures are included.

The flight characteristics of this gyro are very smooth and docile. Here's a suggestion if you are going with direct pitch and roll with the rotor head: Choose a servo that's suited for the job. The elevator (if used) and rudder use mini servos – not much stress on them so there is no need for a standard size servo. Power needed: Electric - anything that will produce minimum of 4 lbs of thrust. Glow - .25-.40 two stroke .26 to .40 four stroke [ back to the top ] "SIMPLE-G" Autogyro Click here for the instructions. Mini-Tablesaw / Router / Shaper for Dremel rotary tool. Servocity. If you do not know which gearmotor you need, you can view a comparison table of the Solarbotics gearmotors. Compare all products in this category The Solarbotics GM18 30:1 mini metal gear motor is a compact (1.14" x 0.39" x 0.47") brushed DC motor with metal gears, similar to the Sanyo motors such as NA2S, NA3S, and NA4S.

The major difference is that these Sanyo motor look-a-likes have brass front faceplates (not steel ones), and cost less. The Solarbotics GM12a 100:1 mini metal gear motor is a compact (1.14" x 0.39" x 0.47") brushed DC motor with metal gears, very similar to the Sanyo NA2S motor. The Solarbotics GM13a 150:1 mini metal gear motor is a compact (1.14" x 0.39" x 0.47") brushed DC motor with metal gears, very similar to the Sanyo NA3S motor. The Solarbotics GM14a 298:1 mini metal gear motor is a compact (1.14" x 0.39" x 0.47") brushed DC motor with metal gears, very similar to the Sanyo NA4S motor. The GM8 is essentially a 143:1 version of the GM2 gearmotor.

Parkjets - Home. Untitled Document.
